Deputy SecDef stops at USSPACECOM for integrated deterrence, AI discussions
U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, U.S. Space Command commander, briefs Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks during a visit to USSPACECOM headquarters Dec. 13, 2021, at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. Senior USSPACECOM leaders briefed Hicks on threats to the space domain, integrated deterrence and the use of artificial intelligence throughout the command. Before coming to Colorado, Hicks said USSPACECOM and USNORTHCOM were very much part of the integrated deterrence issue set of how we think about space and cyber and resiliency of the United States. USSPACECOM conducts operations in, from, and to space to deter conflict, and if necessary, defeat aggression, deliver space combat power for the Joint and Combined force, and defend U.S. vital interests with allies and partners.
