Air Quality Index
We are currently in wildfire season for this region of California which can result in elevated particulate matter levels and poor air quality conditions. The US EPA monitors Air Quality to include particulate matter throughout the US. The health department effects are increasing likelihood of respiratory symptoms in sensitive individuals, aggravation of heart or lung disease and premature mortality in persons with cardiopulmonary disease, and the elderly. People with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly, or children should limit prolonged exertion. Please contact Bioenvironmental Engineering at 530-634-2045 for any questions. The following table summarizes the EPA Particle Matter Pollution recommendations and conditions.
