Defense Department launches retirement system comparison calculator

The Blended Retirement System combines a service member’s traditional legacy retirement pension with distributions from the Thrift Savings Plan, creating a portable retirement option. Increased financial education and training is essential to help Airmen make wise financial decisions, so the Department of Defense launched the BRS comparison calculator, providing BRS opt-in eligible service members their first opportunity for an individualized comparison of retirement systems.
