Gladiators in action

Rocky road to Citizen Airman, solid foundation

U.S. Air Force Reserve Senior Airman Cesar Zayas poses for a photo before attending one of his brigade's formal events while serving as a corporal in the U.S. Army. Zayas served a little more than 3.5 years in the Army before separating and joining corporate American by working for a San Antonio-based cyber-security contracting firm. He joined the Air Force Reserve in September 2015, and credits his solid foundation and present-day success with the many hard knocks lessons he learned as a young boxer. (Courtesy photo)
