Airman First Class Shannon Reaves, a cyber transport systems journeyman assigned to the 35th Combat Communications Squadron, connects cabling to supply both voice and data services to geo-separated tents across a simulated-deployed location at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla. Combat communications units like the 35th CBCS are tasked to support Department of Defense requirements anywhere in the world, providing the deployed commander both classified and unclassified communications services for up to 5,000 users.
