More than 40 cyber Reservists joined forces March 5 to 8, 2015 at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, for a commander's forum hosted by Col. Lloyd Terry Jr., 960th Cyberspace Operations Group commander. Commanders, superintendents and senior ARTs gathered to discuss the state of combat communications, network warfare, combat operations, cyber defense analysis and network operations, while also brainstorming avenues of enhancing partnerships and resources in the future and on improving recruiting efforts.

The 'gladiators of the grid' toured three facilities to include 24th Air Force headquarters where the mobilization assistant to the commander Brig. Gen. Karen A. Rizzuti, 24th Air Force, discussed the growth of cyber operations.  The 24th Air Force's mission is to operate, extend and defend the Air Force Information Network, defend key mission systems, and provide full spectrum cyberspace capabilities for the joint warfighter in, through and from cyberspace.

Maj. Gen. B. Edwin Wilson, 24th Air Force commander spent time with the cyber Citizen Airmen conveying his support of Total Force Integration.  A recent testimony to the House Armed Services Committee gave the general the opportunity to express the urgency to build cyber capability and capacity, by praising Air Force Reservists and Total Force Integration mission successes.  He said they bring a unique blend of experience and expertise to the full spectrum of cyber missions because many work in prominent civilian positions within the information technology industry, which bolsters our mission effectiveness through their willingness to serve the nation. He added these partnerships will be vital to our future operations as the Air Reserve Component continues to provide integrated support of the Defense Department's cyber mission force.
