JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-Lackland, Texas -- Colonel Lewis “Keith” Whitehead assumed command of the 860th Cyberspace Operations Group from Colonel Joshua Garrison during a change of command ceremony at the Museum of Aviation at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia on Sept. 14, 2024. Colonel Whitehead was previously the Chief of Cyber Programs and Requirements at HQ AFRC A 5/8, Robins AFB, GA.
The change of command ceremony followed Colonel Whitehead’s promotion ceremony where he was promoted from lieutenant colonel to colonel on Aug. 26, 2024.
As commander of the 860th Cyberspace Operations Group, Colonel Whitehead has responsibility for over 600 Reserve Citizen Airmen and civilians across seven subordinate units. Additionally, he will direct coordination, organization, and presentation of Air Force Reserve Command’s expeditionary forces, as well as cyber forces to Air Forces Cyber, 16th Air Force, Air Combat Command, and United States Cyber Command.
Following receipt of the guidon, Colonel Whitehead imparted his gratitude and vision as incoming commander at Robins' Museum of Aviation.
