WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio - October is the month of spooks and scares but also the time for Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The 88th Communications Squadron’s Cybersecurity Office has joined the global effort to promote awareness for online safety and privacy as part of the monthlong campaign. This year’s theme is: “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.”

Volunteers from all over Wright-Patterson Air Force Base who are passionate about their craft will share knowledge and expertise through a series of classes. Many areas of cybersecurity will be covered, including: home-network defense and how to defend against cyberattacks such as phishing, spamming and malware.

All Cybersecurity Awareness Month classes will be held online over Microsoft Teams and recorded for viewing after the initial class date.
