HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, picnics, and concerts. Undoubtedly, COVID-19 will drive some changes with respect to how we observe these time honored traditions.
What hasn’t changed is that we can enjoy the holiday, and celebrate the patriotism of the generations of men and women who have sacrificed for our country and our way of life, but we should do so responsibly. As we celebrate, we cannot let our guard down in protecting ourselves and our loved ones in this environment. Please wear face coverings when social distancing can’t be maintained, and practice strict hygiene, such as no hand-shaking, frequent hand washing, and cleaning of common-use items.
I want to thank all of the devoted and dedicated men and women across Team Hill for the phenomenal work you do each and every day. I’m truly thankful for the sacrifices each of you make to increase combat capability, enhance readiness, and improve our installation.
I wish you all a safe, enjoyable Independence Day. Please enjoy the well-deserved time-off with family and friends and celebrate our nation’s independence, but do so responsibly so that we all remain safe and healthy.
Thank you for your commitment to Team Hill, our Air Force, and our nation. It’s an honor to serve with you.
