Colonel ANDREW P. FETH

Colonel Andrew Feth serves as the commander of the 960th Cyber Operations Group, Joint Base San Antonio-Chapman Training Annex, Texas. He is responsible for the operations and staff activities of seven direct-reporting units and over 700 military and civilian personnel across four different states. The missions of these units include defensive cyber-operations (DCO); command & control of cyber operations and DCO Response Actions; cyber defense analysis; network operations; and dynamic support to offensive cyber operations. He also organizes, trains, equips and presents reserve forces to Air Forces Cyber, 16th Air Force and U.S. Cyber Command.

Colonel Feth received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University and earned his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1998. He later went on to earn master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, Computer Science from Nova Southeastern University, and Security Studies from the National Defense University.

He led the advanced echelon teams that established initial communications capabilities at Jacobabad, Pakistan, during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Burgas, Bulgaria, during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Colonel Feth oversaw the Executive Airlift Communications Network’s initiation and growth for Air Mobility Command, delivering crucial high-speed satellite communications connectivity to national senior leaders. Additionally, he was competitively selected for the Air Force Education with Industry program with General Dynamics Information Systems in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. While stationed at Osan Air Base, Korea, he served as the Deputy Director of Communications and Information for Headquarters 7th Air Force, leading cyberspace operations activities to ensure the readiness of the Combined Air Operations Center and 39 allied sites throughout the Korean theater. Colonel Feth later served as the Flight Commander, Presidential Information Systems, and Presidential Communications Officer at the White House Communications Agency. He led 104 joint service personnel and traveled globally to provide secure voice, data, and video services in direct support of the President of the United States.

Colonel Feth also served as a Network Infrastructure Engineer on the Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command staff leading and directing technology insertion efforts for a $220M Enterprise of 13 Reserve bases and 59 tenant locations. Colonel Feth then served as Commander of the 911th Communications Squadron at Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station. He led the delivery of Information Technology services and Defensive Cyberspace Operations capabilities to a 1,763-personnel strong Airlift Wing. Colonel Feth then worked as a Cyberspace Operations Officer for the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, designing strategic, operational, and tactical cyberspace plans supporting multiple combatant commanders’ mission priorities. As the Commander of the 919th Special Operations Communications Squadron at Duke Field, Florida, he led a 90-person communications squadron responsible for providing reliable, high-speed specialized cyberspace capabilities to combatant commanders and joint special operators. Colonel Feth also served as the Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Director, Cyberspace and Technology for Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, helping lead a staff of 104 personnel, supporting over 4,200 cyber warriors across 42 wings. Colonel Feth was also competitively selected to attend the Regional Defense Fellowship Program at the National Defense University’s College of International Security Affairs at Fort McNair in Washington, DC. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Commander of the 701st Combat Operations Squadron at March Air Reserve Base, California, leading an elite team of 147 combat-ready citizen Airmen across 40 Air Force specialties executing full-spectrum operational-level command and control capabilities for 7th Air Force and the Pacific Theater.

Since transitioning to the Air Force Reserve in January 2011, Colonel Feth worked as Network Systems Engineer for the MITRE Corporation on the headquarters staffs of five geographic and functional combatant commands. In September 2014, he joined The Walt Disney Company and currently serves as Director of Security Architecture and Engineering, responsible for the design and implementation of enterprise cybersecurity architectural frameworks and solutions across Disney’s diverse businesses and driving the agile and secure integration of emerging technologies into the Company’s expansive digital ecosystem.
