From coal miner’s son to wing commander, Airman led way for African Americans

In August 1967, Harold Beatty joined the Air Force in Knoxville, Tennessee, and over the next 35 years he made his way from airman basic to colonel, earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees along the way.

New 25th Air Force commander takes reins of vast ISR enterprise

Maj. Gen. Mary F. O’Brien took command of 25th Air Force today at Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland. Maj. Gen. Bradford "B.J." Shwedo relinquished command during the ceremony, presided over by Gen. Mike Holmes, Commander of Air Combat Command.
