Flu season around the corner

In addition to our concerns with COVID, the flu season is fast approaching and we want everyone to be protected as soon as possible.

There have been significant national delays and cost overruns with flu shots this year.  As such, I would like to remind all wing members that they can get their flu vaccines with their local provider, pharmacy or civilian employer ASAP, if desired and able.

Tricare covers this as do most other medical insurers.

This will improve our military readiness, reduce crowding at 445th Airlift Wing Flu Clinics, improve any shortages and reduce costs.

Airmen must send documentation to the 445th AMDS for transcription into their medical records.

Shot records should be sent to the AMDS org box: 445AMDS.SGP.MedicalDocuments@us.af.mil. The record must have the service member’s full name, brand of vaccine, expiration date and lot number.

Some pharmacies, like CVS or Walgreens, may not automatically have this information on their handouts, so please make sure they write it on their forms before you leave.
