ARCHIVED - Colonel Lori C. Jones is the first and former commander of the 960th Cyberspace Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Chapman Training Annex, Texas. The unit is the only cyberspace wing in the Air Force Reserve Command. As the commander, Colonel Jones directs the operations and staff activities of 17 direct-reporting units and 1,300 personnel. The missions of these units encompass total cyber-operations: combat communications; command & control of defensive cyber-operations (DCO) and DCO – Response Actions (DCO-RA); CONUS wide communication infrastructure management; cyber defense analysis; DCO, DCO-RA, network operations; Initial Qualifications Training for cyber ops across eight weapons and dynamic support to authorized Offensive Cyber Operations. Her responsibilities also include the coordination, organization and presentation of AFRC cyber forces to Air Forces Cyber, 24th Air Force and United States Cyber Command.

 

Colonel Jones was commissioned through Officer Training School in November 1993 and was a member of the first class to be commissioned at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. She completed Information Management Officer Training in 1994 and Basic Communications Officer Training as a distinguished graduate in 1998, both at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. Colonel Jones served nearly nine years on active duty before joining the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 2002. Colonel Jones started her Air Force Reserve career at the 433d Airlift Wing, and has since served in various assignments at the wing, higher headquarters and joint levels. During her tenure as an AF Reservist, she has been mobilized twice in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM, which included a deployment to Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait in 2009.
